angelito had it's first public screening on may 6th, 2011.
it was a part of the epidemic film festival, promoted by the academy of art university in san francisco, ca. the event was at the golden gate theater, and the room was packed.
my heart was (as usual) pounding way too loud for me to understand what was going on. but it was amazing to feel the room and people's reactions there, in the dark.
to enhance the night's emotions, angelito was granted the two awards it was competing for, in the category narrative drama:
best director and best film
i can't denny that we were delighted and so happy.
